I decided to go with MDR after talking with one my neighbors who had great things to say about Matt and his team. I am glad I did. Matt came out and gave me an initial estimate on my bathroom remodel including some optional costs of things like in-floor heating. Once I decided to move forward he sent me to his preferred vendors who were all great in picking out the tiles, quartz countertop, shower glass, tub and all the bathroom finishes from shower heads to toilet paper holders. While I was doing this Matt was getting everything scheduled including the plumbing and electrical inspectors. They did a good job of sticking to the schedule and things went smoothly. His people were all very courteous and did a great job of cleaning up every day. They were also very respectful of the fact that I was working from home. I was and still am very impressed with the quality of the work and thrilled with the final results of my bathroom. There were no surprises and the time frame and total cost were what I was expecting. Matt and his contractors did an amazing job on our complete home remodel and addition. We would absolutely hire him and Kevin again. In early 2023, we were in-process of buying our in-laws home and wanted to gut it and put in an addition before moving in. During the loan closing process things became hectic with the bank since we decided to lock in our interest rate while still in the early steps with Matt. Matt did a great job at turning things around very quickly including same day at times so that we could close on time. During the remodel, Matt kept us up to date as to where things were at and the timeline going forward. Since the remodel required us to go down to the studs, additional issues were found that Matt either just took care of for no charge or was very transparent about the costs and what we needed to do to fix them. Prior to installing the fixtures or other items, we picked out he made a point of looking at them ahead of time to ensure they were good quality. If the items weren't good quality, he would let us know and/or switch them out for something better. The contractors he worked with were also great and did a really nice job. Matt made a point of talking with them ahead of time about what needed to be done and inspecting the work afterwards as well to make sure it met the home owners and his requirements. We absolutely loved our painter (Brian). We had a few touchup items that needed to get fixed after we moved in, which Matt was good about taking care of in a timely fashion. Matt and his team restored our faith in General Contracting. We were in the middle of rebuilding portions of our home with another contractor, which fell apart when that contractor started providing unexplainable charges. We reached out, received several new quotes, and went with Matt. Right away we had a great feeling with Matt and his team, and were rewarded with outstanding work and service. He and his team readily communicated what was going on through all stages of our rebuild, and most importantly (to us at least) took the time to help us understand what needed to happen, why it needed to happen, and how much each alternative would cost. Cliff notes: Going with MDR Design-Build-Remodel for our bathroom remodel was the best choice ever! Key reasons to hire MDR: 1) High quality work; 2) Great communication; 3) Excellent scheduling; 4) No attempts to upsell during the project; 5) Makes sure the client loves the end product; 6) Knows the answer or the person who does Thesis: After talking to a couple of big bathroom remodel companies at shows and having four or five contractors come out, we chose Matt Rondo’s MDR Design-Build-Remodel. He was honest, frank about what would be possible and what wouldn’t based on our budget, and upfront about timeline. He organized all his subcontractors so that there was someone here every day so we didn’t have to live in chaos any longer than absolutely necessary. When the remodel was complete and I’d had a few days to enjoy it, Matt came out for a final review and asked how I liked it. I had to admit to him that I loved how everything turned out, but my water heater wasn’t able to fill the extra deep tub I picked out. He immediately whipped out his phone and called his plumber to find out if there was a more affordable way to improve my hot water supply by enhancing my current water heater instead of replacing it (the answer was yes). We’ve never done a remodel before, but we will definitely choose Matt Rondo and MDR Design-Build-Remodel for our next one!
